Craps is one of the classic casino games. It's a dice game, where players bet against the house on the outcome of a two dice roll. The excitement of the craps game inspired hot action scenes in many Hollywood movies. It's one of casino table games classics along with blackjack, roulette and baccarat. |
The Craps game is played with two dice rolled by a player named "shooter". The game is played in sessions, each one starting with a "come up" roll. Before the come-up, only line bets can be placed ("pass" or "don't pass" bets). If the come-up roll is 2, 3 or 12 ("craps") the pass bet loses, the don't pass bet wins and the session ends. If the come-up roll is seven or eleven ("natural") the session ends with the pass bet as winner (don't pass bet loses). Any other combination (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) continues the session, the number becoming "the point". The session ends when either the point or a seven is hit. Meanwhile, the line bets remain open until the round ends. If the round is closed by a 7, the don't pass bet wins. If it's closed by a point, the pass bet wins. |
